Course Overview
In light of recent advances in the care of youth with diabetes, growth disorders and other endocrinological disorders, the Mount Sinai Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes seeks to empower a broad array of clinicians to provide the highest level of care to people with diabetes, bone disorders and growth disorders. Participants will learn about pathophysiology, treatment goals and methods for diabetes, bone disorders and growth disorders, and will emerge more confident dealing with diabetes and endocrine challenges.

Objectives
  1. Understand the underlying mechanism leading to Turner syndrome and review worldwide clinical guidelines for the care of children and young women with Turner syndrome.
  2. Understand the pathogenesis of type 1 diabetes mellitus and be aware of clinical evidence based advances in targeted prevention strategies for type 1 diabetes mellitus.
  3. Identify the underlying etiologies of rickets, especially X-Linked Hypophosphatemia and learn about new targeted therapy for this form of rickets.
