Course Overview
The 20th Annual Mount Sinai Inflammatory Bowel Disease Consultant’s Course will provide an in-depth review of strategies for participants to better diagnose, classify and achieve remission in patients with Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. State-of-the-art lectures will be given by expert faculty on optimizing therapies, innovative treatment, and epidemiology of IBD. This onsite activity and live webinar will include panel discussions, discuss the positioning of new medications, and provide an opportunity for attendees to present their own questions and challenging clinical scenarios. The goal is to meet the needs of our IBD patients by addressing sub-optimal disease control, preventable disease complications, and the potential negative consequences of therapy, such as serious infections and cancer.

Objectives
  1. Describe the use and positioning of new medications approved for the treatment of IBD.
  2. Describe treatment options for special populations including pregnant patients and patients with penetrating sequelae.
  3. Describe appropriate implementation of therapeutic drug monitoring and treat-to-target approaches in clinical practice.
  4. Identify the rationale for positioning of biologic therapies for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
