This premier international educational symposium entitled “6th Inflammatory Skin Disease Summit: The Translational Revolution”, a unique and dynamic symposium, which will be held at the historical New York Academy of Medicine, New York, USA, during November 12-15, 2025. Over the last few decades, biomedical research has unraveled a plethora of pathophysiological steps putatively important for human disease development. However, it was only in the last few years that a broader translation from basic research efforts to clinical medicine has indeed occurred. This was largely made possible by the close cooperation of basic researchers and clinical investigators, aiming at the development of truly effective therapeutics. Inflammatory skin diseases such as psoriasis, atopic dermatitis, alopecia areata, scarring alopecias, hidradenitis and vitiligo serve as an example of this successful benchto-bedside approach. Currently, more and more therapies are approved as a result of this scientific approach, and many more are on their way.
