Course Overview
The coding seminar will emphasize ICD 10 and new urology codes established by RVS (Relative Value Scale) Update Committee (RUC). The increased usage of Incident to billing related to Advanced Practice providers. The risk of urology practice will be reviewed including risks of the EHR: proper coding technique, medication reconciliation, importance of shared decision making and patient follow-up. In addition, the seminar will briefly discuss the upcoming forecast model of healthcare in 2020 and how the effect CMS payment structures.

Objectives
  1. Recognize and Integrate new ICD-10 and CPT code updates for urologic diseases.
  2. Identify and Illustrate how MACRA relates to the Quality Payment Program and how it will be utilized to improve the quality care of patients.
  3. Review new urology CPT codes to determine shared decision making and appropriate permitting of procedural events.
  4. Discuss the importance of metadata and lack of documentation in the EMR and evaluate its associated dangers and how it affects Risk Management.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
