Course Overview
In light of the obesity epidemic and the high frequency of pediatric chronic diseases and growth disorders, the Mount Sinai Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes seeks to empower a broad array of clinicians to provide the highest level of care to people with diabetes and disorders of growth. Participants will learn about pathophysiology, treatment goals and treatment methods for diabetes, endocrine disorders and growth disorders and will emerge more confident dealing with diabetes and endocrine challenges.

Objectives
  1. Identify the underlying etiologies of growth disorders and understand a systematic approach to genetic testing in the subgroup of patients with apparent genetic causes for short stature
  2. Recognize clinical evidence based advances in the treatment of type 1 diabetes mellitus
  3. Understand updates in the practice guidelines on central precocious puberty
