Course Overview
The Mount Sinai 2026 Inflammatory Bowel Disease Consultant’s Course is a one-day, in-person educational program focused on practical, evidence-based management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Designed for gastroenterologists caring for patients in community and referral settings, the course emphasizes real-world clinical decision-making across the full spectrum of IBD care. Expert faculty from the Mount Sinai IBD Center will translate advances in biologics, small molecules, monitoring strategies, and multidisciplinary management into actionable approaches for daily practice. The program features concise didactic sessions, interactive case workshops, and audience-driven discussions addressing treatment selection and sequencing, refractory disease, dysplasia surveillance, cancer risk, pregnancy, acute severe ulcerative colitis, and long-term disease monitoring.

Objectives
  1. Apply practical, evidence-based strategies to select, sequence, and optimize therapies for Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis.
  2. Integrate monitoring tools—including biomarkers, therapeutic drug monitoring, and imaging—into feasible treat-to-target approaches.
  3. Manage complex and high-risk IBD scenarios, including refractory disease, dysplasia and cancer risk, pregnancy, and acute severe ulcerative colitis.
