Course Overview
This program will provide an overview of the management of injured patients with a focus on new innovations and trends in trauma care. This will include emerging trends in hemostasis and blood transfusion as well as the latest advances in point of care testing. There will also be lectures on simulation for both mass casualty disaster preparations and operative trauma simulation.

Objectives
  1. Identify alternatives to anticoagulation therapy.
  2. Describe the indications and potential advantages to a robotic approach to selected acute surgical pathology.
  3. Review simulation training for mass casualty incidents and operative trauma.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
