Course Overview
This is a one-day conference on home dialysis sponsored by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Clinicians, researchers, RNs, RDs and SWs who are experts in the field of kidney diseases and dialysis will discuss current developments in the field of Peritoneal Dialysis and related dialysis modalities. There will be a variety of topics, including robust roundtable discussions about food insecurity in PD, discussion with patients about improving nutritional education and personalized approach for nutritional management of diabetes in this population.

Objectives
  1. Review the physiology of peritoneal membrane, summarize the best practices to preserve the performance of the membrane and review the role of adequacy testing.
  2. Discuss the challenges and strategies to improve nutrition in PD patients.
  3. Examine and discuss the risks and benefits of Urgent start PD and strategies to help patients switch between home modalities if the need arises.

An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be issued for registration fees that are equal to or less than $50.



Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Registered Nurses and Dialysis Technicians can receive 6.0 CEU credits (contact hours) from National Association of Nephrology Technicians/Technologists (NANT).

NANT is an authorized provider of continuing education credits that may be used for certification application and recertification by BONENT, NNCC and NNCO certification programs.
