There is an increasing prevalence and harms related to substance use disorders in the older adult and seriously ill populations. Competency among clinicians and interdisciplinary teams caring for patients with substance use disorders is an unmet and pressing need, representing an important opportunity for growth in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine. These interactive educational sessions offer skills training in care for patients with SUDs, highlighting the unique needs of older adults and seriously ill patients with SUD.

1. Identify current barriers and an action plan to increase screening for and appropriate management of SUDs in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine
2. Describe treatment options for common SUDs in Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine
3. Safely manage pain in patients with SUDs

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (1.00 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (1.00 hours)
