Course Overview
Come for the content and comraderie! Our live and in-person Hospital Medicine conference provides updates on the core content you need to take great care of your patients in a vibrant and fun atmosphere where you can learn with colleagues from around the country. You will hear about advances in antibiotics, how to manage bleeding for patients on anticoagulants, use of buprenorphine for opioid use disorder and other core conditions in Hospital Medicine. Our “Name that Diagnosis” session will give the audience a chance to flex their diagnostic muscles on challenging HM cases! You will also hear about the exciting possibilities of “Hospital at Home,” including tips for programs and patients at your hospital.
Our workshops let you “Choose Your Own Master Clinician Adventure.” Attend topics in critical care, peri-operative management, palliative care, POCUS, or mix and match to get a wide variety of expert content.
Our faculty consists of national and international leaders in their fields and our sessions have been designed to provide highly relevant material in a concise and stimulating format. The fast pace, exciting topics, expert faculty, and flexible format ensure a highly valuable experience that will move you forward towards your goal of becoming a Master Clinician!


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:

  1. Determine the best timing to restart anticoagulation for patients who have had a major bleeding event.
  2. Provide optimal glycemic control for patients admitted with diabetes.
  3. Start, titrate, and change opioid medications for pain and utilize non-opioid medications to minimize opioid use.
  4. Manage common symptoms seen at the end of life, including delirium, pain, and nausea.
  5. Manage patients with severe manifestations of acute decompensated liver disease, such as hepatorenal syndrome and hepatic encephalopathy.
