Course Overview
This internet live activity will equip physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants with the relevant knowledge necessary for understanding the background and key concepts in clinical pharmacogenomics. In addition, the activity will highlight pharmacogenomic implications for clinical practice especially in cardiology, pain, psychiatry and other specialties. Participants will receive information to guide them on testing, return of results, applications in patient care and other emerging clinician roles in pharmacogenomics. This course will discuss current and future pharmacogenomic initiatives in the Mount Sinai Health System. Clinicians will also learn to apply these principles in their own practices.


Objectives
  1. Provide healthcare professionals with the tools needed to incorporate pharmacogenomics (PGx) into their own practices.
  2. Explain the relevant knowledge necessary for understanding the background and key concepts in clinical PGx.
  3. Highlight PGx implications for clinical practice especially in cardiology, pain, psychiatry and other specialties.
  4. Inform guidance on genetic testing, return of results, applications in patient care.
  5. Discuss current and future PGx initiatives in the Mount Sinai Health System.

Registration

Quarterly Module consists of (1) Introduction and (3) Clinical Implementation of Pharmacogenomics in Cardiology, Psychiatry and Pain

Module 2: Wednesdays: January 12 - March 16, 2022
Module 3: Fridays: April 8 - June 10, 2022
Module 4: Thursdays: June 30 - Sept 1, 2022

Cancellation Policy
All refund and cancellation requests must be emailed to the CME office at [email protected]u 3 business prior to the 1st Introduction Module. Cancellations after this date are not eligible for a refund. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be issued for registration fees that are equal to or less than $50.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
