To keep physicians' knowledge current in a variety of medical topics. To improve knowledge related to treatment of patients with a wide range of medical issues. To enhance understanding of medical knowledge and non-medical issues impinging on medical care.

1. Demonstrate that prandial glucose metabolism is tightly regulated by nutrient-derived factors
2. Identify that rerouting the gut alters glucose tolerance with both beneficial and detrimental effects.
3. Provide an overview of epidemiology, mechanisms, and diagnosis of hypoglycemia after GI surgery.
4. Summarize the therapeutic options (current strategies and emerging approaches)

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
