Course Overview
Comprised of lectures, panel discussion and laboratory dissections of the temporal bone, the course will cover current surgical techniques, equipment and instrumentation, anatomy and pathology of the temporal bone, surgical outcomes and future directions of endoscopic ear surgery. Course material and hands-on laboratory dissection will be appropriate for both novice and advanced endoscopic ear surgeons


Objectives
  1. Describe complex middle ear anatomy and basic principles of endoscopic ear surgery, including operating room layout, instrumentation
  2. Identify barriers to implementation of endoscopic ear surgery (EES) at their intuition and practice
  3. Demonstrate technical competence in basic endoscopic surgical techniques for common otologic procedures
  4. Describe complex middle ear anatomy and ventilation pathways
  5. Demonstrate application of endoscopic techniques to common otologic procedures
  6. Explain potential for future applications to temporal bone and skull base pathology
  7. Demonstrate ability to incorporate EES into clinical practice
