Course Overview
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is pleased to announce a one-and-a-half day in-person course, with an option for participants to pursue a certificate course for Graduate Medical Education (GME) Well-being Leaders through a monthly, virtual longitudinal program. The course is designed for faculty who have an oversight role for GME trainee well-being and are pursuing skills and knowledge enhancement to advance GME well-being at their institutions. Intended participants include Deans of medical schools, Designated Institutional Officials, faculty and allied health professionals with a dedicated GME well-being role at the institutional level. The interactive, skills-based course will focus on discussing the components of a comprehensive GME well-being program, including measurement, interventions at the system and individual level, strategies for scholarship as well as mental health resources. Attendees will learn best practices for well-being for well-being leaders. The course directors and speakers are members of the Collaborative for Health and Renewal in Medicine (CHARM) and national experts in GME well-being. Space is limited so sign up now!


Objectives
  1. Describe the components of a comprehensive GME Well-being Program
  2. Compare and contrast validated measurement options available for assessing trainee well-being
  3. Describe the interplay of environmental and individual threats to well-being
  4. Discuss what “well-being scholarship” means and how it compares to other forms of scholarship in education
  5. Identify common barriers to usage of mental health resources and how they can be mitigated
  6. Apply well-being best practices for leaders of GME well-being

Virtual Longitudinal Workshops

We are pleased to offer a *NEW* virtual interactive longitudinal certificate course for those educators seeking deeper knowledge and skill development. Participants will benefit from mentoring and networking to support furthering their expertise and a locally-focused project for their institution. There will be 4 live virtual workshops with mentoring and group discussions. To receive a CHARM GME Well-being Leader Certificate, participants will need to attend the one and half day in-person course, all 4 virtual workshops and complete their well-being program development project.
