Course Overview
This coding seminar will emphasize coding changes on the urology practice. It will introduce codes that were established by RSV (Relative Value Scale) Update Committe (RUC). The risk of urology practice will be reviewed including the risks of the electronic medical record, proper coding technique, the use of macros and need for documentation emphasizing the importance of shared decision making. It will also address up to date information related to urology news nationally.


Objectives
  1. Identify and Distinguish new ICD-10 and CPT Code updates including the updated usage of Evaluation and Management codes in urologic conditions.
  2. Illustrate and Identify how MACRA related to the Quality Payment Program and how it will be utilized to improve the quality care of patients.
  3. Review new urology CPT Codes to determine shared decision making and appropriate permitting of procedural events.
  4. Discuss the importance of metadata and lack of documentation in the EMR and evaluation its associated dangers and how it affects Risk Management.
