Course Overview
Our course is designed to provide the practicing clinician, both generalists and allergists, and allied health, with updates on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of food allergies. Our goal is to provide a unique, interactive course that highlights scientific advances which support current clinical practice guidelines for food allergy.

Objectives
  1. Review current approaches to preventing food allergies.
  2. Discuss how to accurately diagnose food allergy.
  3. Recognize signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis so that treatment can be administered promptly.
  4. Describe the currently available peanut allergy treatment and other emerging treatments for food allergy.
  5. Identify nutritional issues that may result in food allergic individuals.
  6. Advise on how to manage food allergy in school, restaurants and while traveling.
  7. Understand diagnosis and management of food-protein induced enterocolitis and eosinophilic esophagitis.
  8. Appreciate health disparities that exist in food allergy.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
