Course Overview
The 9th Annual Advances in Neurology is a full-day live CME event that will provide clinicians with an update on diagnostic processes, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative management strategies in these 8 areas of neurology: headache, movement disorders (including chemodenervation and deep brain stimulation), epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, neuromuscular disease, and neuro-oncology. Through didactic lecture, case presentations, and interactive discussions with expert clinicians, attendees will be better enabled to diagnose and manage patients living with neurologic disorders in 2022 and beyond. Patient simulators will interact with faculty to provide an enhanced learning experience for participants.

Objectives
  1. Discuss existing, new, and potential options for migraine treatment and prevention including oral medications, devices, injectables, and interventional therapies.
  2. Summarize the guidelines and criteria for diagnosing and categorizing multiple sclerosis, and discuss a comprehensive management plan. .
  3. Identify the symptoms of post-acute sequelae of COVID (PASC) to improve time to recognition and avoid unnecessary diagnostic testing.
  4. Describe the options for acute stroke interventions required to obtain optimal neurological outcomes, and identify central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) and branch retinal artery occlusion (BRAO).
  5. Describe a strategic treatment plan for Parkinson disease (PD) that addresses the complex needs of patients as they progress thru the advancing stages of the disease, including the use of cannabis as a potential treatment option.
  6. Describe novel diagnostic techniques and classification guidelines for primary brain tumors and brain metastases, and discuss targeted and biologic therapies including tumor treating fields medical device.
  7. Explain strategies for diagnosing and treating epilepsy in children and adolescents, including surgical options.
  8. Discuss the role of high-resolution neuromuscular ultrasound as a cost-effective and painless diagnostic tool for the evaluation of various focal and diffuse peripheral neuropathies.
