Course Overview

This course is designed for surgeons, who are engaged in the comprehensive management of patients with salivary gland diseases.  A core procedure in this practice is the technique of sialendoscopy.  This advanced course introduces the techniques and uses of sialendoscopy utilizing a combination of didactic lectures and hands on laboratory workshop.


Objectives
  1. Describe the various salivary gland diseases that can be managed in a minimally invasive way by sialendoscopy.
  2. Identify the barriers to adoption of sialendoscopy in the treatment of salivary gland diseases and incorporate methods, including a treatment algorithm, that will overcome these identified barriers.
  3. Explain why sialendoscopy increases patient safety in regards to the management of certain salivary gland diseases and justifying the use of sialendoscopy in their current practice.
