Our keynote speaker, Vice Chair for Quality and Safety in the Department of Hospital Medicine at Ochsner Medical Center Megan Brooks will describe how patients with bacteremia can receive less IV antibiotics to facilitate a prompt and safe discharge.

The Update in Hospital Medicine session will review the studies over the past year that have led to changes in management strategies. Other sessions will focus on recent guideline updates on the Management of Pulmonary Embolism, the ACC/AHA guideline on Acute Coronary Syndrome, Surviving Sepsis 2026, GI Bleeding, Hepatorenal Syndrome and much more on the core conditions in Hospital Medicine!

1. Use authoritative guidelines and best evidence for the management of patients with acute coronary syndrome
2. Apply 2026 ACC/AHA/SHM PE guideline to risk stratify and treat patients with acute pulmonary embolism
3. Decrease number for days on IV antibiotics for patients with bacteremia to facilitate earlier discharge
4. Initiate and titrate opioid analgesics for opioid naïve patients and patients on chronic opioids who present with severe pain
5. Apply a structured approach to the evaluation and correction of hyponatremia and hypernatremia

An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be issued for registration fees that are equal to or less than $50.
