Course Overview

This is a one-day conference on home dialysis sponsored by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Clinicians, researchers, RNs, RDs and SWs who are experts in the field of kidney diseases and dialysis will discuss current developments in the field of Peritoneal Dialysis and related dialysis modalities. There will be a variety of topics, including but not limited to incremental and staff assisted PD, use of PD in heart failure, special PD setup in neonates and pediatric population, disparities in PD delivery, and a robust roundtable discussion with patients on what made them choose the dialysis modality they are on.


Objectives
  1. Review the technique of fluoroscopic PD catheter placement and be able to select the appropriate patients for this technique.
  2. Discuss the effects of different PD centers in delivering PD across the US.
  3. Examine and discuss the prevention and management strategies in PD related peritonitis.

An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be issued for registration fees that are equal to or less than $50.



Accreditation

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Registered Nurses and Dialysis Technicians can receive 6.0 CEU credits (contact hours) from National Association of Nephrology Technicians/Technologists (NANT).

NANT is an authorized provider of continuing education credits that may be used for certification application and recertification by BONENT, NNCC and NNCO certification programs.
