Course Overview
This course is intended for surgeons, gynecologists, urologists for the purpose of furthering surgical education with a didactic and optional simulation course in complex pelvic surgery. It will include surgical anatomy and landmarks relevant to procedures with distorted anatomy due to pathologic conditions that alter, or due to prior surgical scarring. Robotic surgery tips and tricks will be included for complex pelvic surgery impacted by endometriosis, fibroids, and other inflammatory conditions that involve pelvic structures such as the bowel, uterus, adnexa, and retroperitoneal space.

Objectives
  1. Describe relevant surgical anatomy and landmarks in the pelvis.
  2. Understand robotic surgical methods for various complex pelvic procedures.
  3. Describe pain management and management of complications in complex pelvic surgery.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Credits
AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ (3.50 hours), Non-Physician Attendance (3.50 hours)
