Course Overview
This program will provide an overview of the assessment and management of the injured elderly patient. This will include the initial assessment and management as well as consideration of issues that are specific to as well as more common in the geriatric population.

Objectives
  1. Review management of the injured patient
  2. Describe best practices in the management of traumatic brain injury in the elderly patient
  3. Describe the strategies for the optimization of pain management in the elderly trauma patient
  4. Identify the signs of elder abuse
  5. Define strategies for the rapid reversal of anticoagulant medication
