The Addiction Institute of Mount Sinai (AIMS) clinicians, counselors, and psychologists are invited to a new monthly lecture series for AIMS staff. Lectures will cover the latest discoveries/research in the field, bridging the gap between clinical services and scientific research within the AIMS community. AIMS plans to host these events from 12-1pm on the first Tuesday of every month via Zoom (for the time being given COVID restrictions) with plans to move to in person when it becomes possible.

1. Improved understanding of the neurobiology underlying addictive behaviors and the biological effects of psychoactive substances that has been shown to contribute to the development of medications that can improve outcomes among individuals with substance use disorder. Identify genetic contributions to treatment response.
2. Describe recent developments in collaborative care between mental health providers and primary care physicians. Identify ways that providers can better coordinate treatment with primary care providers to improve depression and reduce medical costs.
3. Describe new medications in the field and clinical populations that are best suited for such treatment interventions.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
