Course Overview
The latest in a continuing series of outreach CME programs designed to update primary care practitioners in the central Queens community with regard to the latest developments in cardiology and to assist in enhancing the integration of these advances into their clinical practices for better patient.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  1. - Assess various approaches to mitral insufficiency and the indications for percutaneous mitral valve interventions in order to identify those patients in whom they would be beneficial
  2. - Restate the spectrum of patients with renal artery stenosis, and the underlying pathophysiology, to identify those subsets in whom revascularization is likely to be beneficial as well as those for which no intervention is indicated.
  3. - Review current guidelines for the pre-operative testing of cardiac patients undergoing non-cardiac surgery in order to improve outcomes and yet minimize unnecessary testing.
