Course Overview
The Endocrine Division grand rounds brings together thought leaders and scholars, who present contemporary research and clinical paradigms in the fields of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism, and Bone Disease. Our audience is multidisciplinary group of clinicians and researchers who have a unified interest in the care of patients with endocrine conditions.

Objectives
  1. Describe ethical gatekeeping and how psychiatric assessments are used as barriers to care rather than to help patients.
  2. Appreciate goals of mental health support around surgery focused on patient need, using the Center for Transgender Medicine and Surgery (CTMS) model as an example.
  3. Describe the pillars of a patient centered gender affirming psychiatric pre-surgical assessment

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
