Course Overview
The 10th Annual Advances in Neurology is a full-day live in-person CME event that will provide clinicians with an update on diagnostic processes, cutting-edge technologies, and innovative management strategies in these 9 areas of neurology: headache, epilepsy, behavior problems in dementia, myasthenia gravis, sleep medicine, tremor, neuro-oncology, Tourette syndrome, and autonomic disorders. Through didactic lecture, case presentations, and interactive discussions with expert clinicians, attendees will be better enabled to diagnose and manage patients living with neurologic disorders in 2023 and beyond. Patient simulators will interact with faculty to provide an enhanced learning experience for participants.

Objectives
  1. Discuss how hormonal changes in women affect the course of migraine, including during in vitro fertilization (IVF) and pr
  2. Explain the process of diagnosing autonomic disorders, with a specific focus on orthostatic intolerance, and how autonomic function testing can improve our understanding of neurological illnesses
  3. Discuss the associations of headaches and psychiatric conditions including depression, bipolar, and various phobias as these may complicate treatment of both.
  4. Summarize a management plan for psychiatric comorbidities in people living with epilepsy, and discuss existing disparities in epilepsy care.
  5. Discuss recent advances in treatment for myasthenia gravis.
  6. Describe when it is appropriate to start anti-psychotics for behavioral problems in dementia (BPSD), and when it is appropriate to refer to a multi-disciplinary center where both non-pharmacological and pharmacological interventions can be implemented.
  7. Identify the symptoms of Tourette syndrome and the latest management strategies
  8. Describe differential diagnosis and treatment of tremor-predominant movement disorders.
  9. Recognize symptoms of parasomnias and put in place management strategies.
  10. Explain the viability and application of CSF liquid biopsy in neuro-oncology.
