Course Overview
This meeting will provide the primary care provider with an update on the latest information on the contemporary management of patients with cardiac issues so that they are poised to incorporate these diagnostic and therapeutic strategies into their practices.

Objectives
  1. Explain the rationale for testing to assess underlying coronary disease based on current treatment paradigms and guidelines in order to optimize diagnostic accuracy and improve patient outcomes
  2. Discuss the role of specific classes of hypoglycemic agents in decreasing cardiovascular and renal outcomes and be confident in starting optimal therapy and adjusting background therapy to optimize patient outcomes
  3. Describe the multitude of percutaneous valvular interventions available to their patients and be better able to guide them towards the appropriate procedure to effect better patient outcomes
