Course Overview
This educational activity will focus on the Retina sub-specialty of ophthalmology specifically Wet Age Related Macular Degeneration (AMD) and Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP) to provide women ophthalmologists, residents and fellows with the latest therapeutic insights, advances, current techniques, and approaches for managing these challenging conditions. This activity will also explore the various opportunities and resources available to those embarking on or progressing in a career in ophthalmology.

Objectives
  1. Describe the risk factors for and symptoms of Wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
  2. Discuss the latest therapeutics used to treat and manage Wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD)
  3. Discuss the risk factors for and causes of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)
  4. Discuss the latest therapeutic insights and advances in the medical and surgical management of Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP)
  5. Describe the evolution of screening and diagnostic advances in Retinopathy of Prematurity (ROP), including changes during the COVID-19 lockdown/pandemic
  6. Recognize the variety of opportunities and resources available in a career journey in ophthalmology.
