Course Overview
This program is designed to provide a targeted overview of the initial triage and management of the injured patient for physicians and other allied health professionals involved in the care of the trauma patient.

Objectives
  1. Describe the situation when a victim of penetrating trauma is in shock and requires expeidiant management to stop hemorrhage.
  2. Identify the barriers to successful team resuscitation of critical trauma patients and how to manage a trauma team so as to overcome them.
  3. Describe the elements of a response and evaluation for a victim of sexual assault.
  4. Explain the objectives and best strategies for management of penetrating wounds to the neck.
