Course Overview
This program is designed to provide a targeted overview of the initial triage and management of the injured patient for physicians and other allied health professionals involved in the care of the trauma patient.

Objectives
  1. Review management of the injured patient.
  2. Describe best practices in the management of spinal cord injury.
  3. Describe the evolution of diagnosis and management of vascular trauma.
  4. Discuss strategies for optimizing the hospital care of the alcohol intoxicated patient.
  5. Define strategies for controlling the innate chaos of the trauma bay.

Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
