Course Overview
The Jaffe Food Allergy Institute is a world-renowned leader in the field of food allergy. We are at the cutting edge of diagnosis, management, and prevention of food allergies and are actively pursuing research to develop treatments and potential cures. At this year’s conference, we are celebrating the Institute’s 25th year by highlighting accomplishments of the past. As in prior years, we will also provide guidance on how best to diagnose, manage, treat, and prevent food allergies.

Objectives
  1. Discuss how to diagnose food allergy accurately.
  2. List new diagnostic tools that are available and those that are in development.
  3. Describe signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis so that treatment can be administered promptly.
  4. Review updated anaphylaxis practice parameters. Review currently available epinephrine auto-injectors and those that may be available soon.
  5. Describe peanut and non-peanut allergy treatments.
  6. Identify nutritional issues that may result in food allergic individuals.
  7. Analyze best practices for avoidance of food allergy in various settings.
  8. Review how to perform oral food challenges.
  9. Describe current approaches to preventing food allergies.
  10. Understand food protein induced allergic proctocolitis, food-protein induced enterocolitis syndrome, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
  11. Appreciate health disparities that exist in food allergy.
