Course Overview
The past 20 years have seen advancement in the care of youth with diabetes and growth disorders. With this anniversary symposium, the Mount Sinai Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes seeks to review the progress in the care of children with diabetes and growth disorders over the last 20 years and look forward to the upcoming 20 years. Participants will learn about pathophysiology, treatment goals and methods for care of children with diabetes and growth disorders, and will emerge more confident dealing with diabetes and endocrine challenges.

Objectives
  1. Identify the underlying etiologies of growth disorders and understand a systematic approach to genetic testing in the subgroup of patients with apparent genetic causes for short stature
  2. Review the underlying etiologies of SGA and be able to identify patients
  3. Recognize clinical evidence based advances in the treatment of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus
