25th Annual Intensive Update with Board Review in Geriatric and Palliative Medicine

The Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is the nation’s largest training program in the field and has trained one out of five geriatricians nationwide. We are offering the 25th Annual Intensive Update with Board Review in Geriatric and Palliative Medicine. This is a four-day clinically-based intensive course in geriatrics and palliative medicine taught by experts in the fields. We provide updates on geriatric syndromes and palliative medicine as well as the latest evidence-based research and treatment options. The course offers eight live virtual plenaries and 20 pre-recorded workshops designated to provide both practical experience with the large group materials. All workshops are case-based and can be viewed at the learner’s time discretion. There will also be four Comprehensive Board Review Q&A sessions. This course is sponsored by the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Brookdale Department of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine.

1. Describe the latest evidence-based geriatric and palliative medicine.
2. Recognize the promises and pitfalls of new treatments for older adults
3. Manage common end-of-life symptoms including dyspnea, constipation, nausea, anorexia, and terminal secretions.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
