ISMMS GME Educational Conference

The ISMMS GME Educational Conference is a full-day retreat for faculty in GME Training Programs across the Mount Sinai GME Consortium. The Conference will include two key-note presentations, along with focused interactive workshops on topics derived from a faculty needs assessment and the national priorities for GME education as set by the ACGME. Additionally, a half-day New Program Director workshop will be included for any program director new to their role in the past 18 months.

1. Incorporate effective communication skills to deliver feedback to physicians in training. Provide effective feedback to physicians in training. Discuss strategies to give feedback in daily encounters .
2. Describe behaviors for effective adult learning in the clinical environment. Use direct observation in the development and training of future physicians. Apply tools for more effective clinical teaching to one’s own practice.
3. Describe the remediation and advisement process. Identify methods for appropriately monitoring and addressing problem learners and developing effective strategies for remediation.
4. Identify candidate’s behaviors and skills in work place based situations. Design behavior based interview questions to be used in the selection of physicians in training.

Registration is complimentary for faculty and residents/fellows.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
