Course Overview

This workshop is designed to provide practitioners and residents in the core aesthetic fields a comprehensive demonstration and training in soft tissue rejuvenation and reconstruction techniques. During the hands-on sessions, the latest techniques will be demonstrated by the experts performing procedures on live patients and on synthetic models. Participants will take home “pearls of wisdom” from the experts and experience hands-on training in the small group workshops. The course format will consist of lectures, panel discussions, question and answer sessions, and hands-on labs.


Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:


  1. • Demonstrate proper patient selection for medical, surgical and cosmetic intervention for dermatologic and surgical conditions based on careful consideration of risk and benefit and the published guidelines.
  2. • Evaluate and demonstrate knowledge and skills in dermatologic surgery, cosmetic dermatology, ophthalmologic surgery, oculoplastic surgery and maxillofacial surgery to improve patient outcomes.
  3. • Assess recent advances in surgical and minimally invasive procedures with emphasis on safety and efficacy for better patient outcomes
  4. • Compare alternative nonsurgical methods of facial rejuvenation including a range of fillers and fractional ablative technologies and formulate treatment plans based on known effectiveness of the therapy.
  5. • Demonstrate and perform various reconstructive and cosmetic procedures on synthetic cadavers as well as on live patients through a multi-specialty approach which is aimed at improving performance in practice.
  6. • Define and recognize knowledge and skills in human facial anatomy, danger zones, and common reconstructive and aesthetic techniques used in facial surgery.
  7. • Apply knowledge regarding recent advances in the effective and safe treatment and management of cosmetic challenges and facial oncologic pathology

Registration

First 100 registered residents* and fellows* can attend the lectures for free and get 65% discount on the lab portion.Please be aware that we have limited number of cadavers.
The registration fee includes the course, breakfast, breaks and lunch for the participant only.

A confirmation letter will be sent upon receipt of your registration and payment (no registration is confirmed without full payment).

*Must provide 1) Letter from the Program Director 2) Copy of hospital ID**Mount Sinai Faculty must have paid 2019 annual departmental dues

Cancellation Policy
All refund and cancellation requests must be emailed to the CME office at [email protected] by May 4th, 2019. Cancellations after this date are not eligible for a refund. An administrative fee of $50 will be deducted from your refund. No refunds will be issued for registration fees that are equal to or less than $50.


Accreditation
The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
