Dr. Ko received his master’s degree in physiology from UCLA and medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine.  He completed a residency in internal medicine at George Washington University Hospital and a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Johns Hopkins University.


Dr. Ko’s clinical interest is in the care of frail older adults across all sites of care.  His current research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of surgery-induced stress responses and their relation to metabolic, functional, and clinical outcomes in the post-operative period in older adults.
