Course Overview
This is a lively, interactive symposium, hosting expert imagers and surgeons from the USA and Canada to discuss the leading cardiac conundrums of our day, with a focus on learning how each expert thinks about particular diseases so that we can better inform each other. Instead of typical PowerPoint presentations, the program hosts live conversations where experts teach each other and the audience how to approach congenital heart disease. This year’s symposium will focus on complex repairs of mitral valve disease, double outlet right ventricle, and congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries. It will be followed by a hands-on 3D echocardiogram workshop where participants can practice image acquisition on live models and image post-processing using the latest technology.

Objectives
  1. Learn how to best image the mitral valve in anticipation of surgical repair.
  2. Gain insight into how to image the heart with double outlet right ventricle to inform the surgical approach for complex baffles.
  3. Improve understanding of how to image congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries to inform prognosis and surgical approach.
  4. Build proficiency in obtaining 3D echocardiogram images to improve clinical understanding of congenital heart disease.
