Course Overview
This meeting is designed to provide a review of clinical neurology with emphasis on areas of recent advances and progress in patient management. Both current concepts and new advances in neurologic disorders will be covered.

Objectives
  1. Discuss the evolving data addressing the connection between Migraine and Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO), and Identify when to prescribe CGRP monoclonal antibodies and small molecule antagonists in patients with cardiovascular risk factors.
  2. Describe the different biomarkers for Alzheimer’s disease and their use is confirming the disease. Identify candidates for monoclonal antibody therapy and discuss the currently approved monoclonal antibodies and understand their benefits and side effects.
  3. Discuss the recent advances in treatment s withing Moment Disorders.
  4. Describe how the use of a multidisciplinary approach to NF1 care, led by an NF expert, which has emerged as an effective strategy to address these challenges.
  5. Review the Multiple Sclerosis diagnostic criteria and identify the new diagnostic tools in 2024.
  6. Discuss how to tailor monitoring and interventions based on each patient’s unique recovery needs and progress.
  7. Learn how to diagnose and recognize neurological manifestations including neuropathy, secondary to hATTR Amyloidosis and review new treatments for hATTR amyloidosis.
  8. Demonstrate how nerve blocks are used to reduce postcraniotomy pain and associated complications.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
